Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) officially launched the 11th generation All-New Honda Civic last November 23. The iconic sedan enters the Philippine market with an all-turbo variant lineup equipped with Honda SENSING. It features a new clean-cut look along with a range of high-tech features.
The all-new Civic is designed with a combination of elegance and sportiness. And compared to its predecessor, the latest generation is 29mm longer, while the wheelbase size increased by 37mm.
It gets a pair of newly shaped headlights up front with either full LEDs or projector halogens, while Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) come standard across the range. For wheel options, the S variant gets 16-inch rims, the mid-range V has 17-inch alloy wheels, and the RS gets 18-inch matte black wheels.
Meanwhile, the rear has a new pair of LED taillights that illuminates elegantly at night. Other features that are exclusive on the RS variant are black-painted side mirrors, door handles, sharkfin antenna and trunk spoiler, along with chrome-finished dual-exhaust pipes.
Inside, the 11th generation Civic gets a minimalist design which features soft touchpoints and honeycomb-patterned vents. It has a spacious interior and cargo area just like its predecessor with compartments that are accessible all around the cabin.
The all-new Civic comes with touchscreen display that either measures 7-inches or 9-inches. Both screens are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capable, while the larger screen has Wireless Apple CarPlay. The S variant has 4 speakers while the V has 8 speakers. The RS variant, on the other hand, comes with a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
The all-new Civic’s 1.5-liter 4-Cylinder DOHC VTEC Turbo engine is available in all variants. It can produce 178 PS and 240Nm of torque, which is an additional 5 Ps and 20Nm vs 10th gen 1.5 VTEC Turbo engine. The Civic’s new powertrain also has an additional 37 PS and 66Nm, versus its predecessor’s 1.8L Naturally-Aspirated. All trims of the Civic are paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Driving modes include Econ, Normal, and Sport, which is found on the RS variant.
