One of the world’s premier auto shows, the Shanghai International Automobile Show now on its 19th year kicked off this week and runs until April 28. Among the various brands that introduced new models and technology is Geely Automobile with its launch of the Xingyue L SUV.
The Xingyue L was launched with the unveiling of Geely’s “SUV Liberator Action” technology which will make full use of the power of science and technology to subvert industry standards and user experience with service innovation.”
The Geely Xingyue L is a heavyweight SUV model born from Compact Modular Architecture (CMA architecture) jointly developed by Volvo and Geely.
At the launch, CEO of Geely Auto Group, Gan Jiayue, announced the intelligent technology points of the new Xingyue L such as mobile 5G high-speed mobile communication technology and whole-vehicle all-area FOTA online upgrade technology.
The Xingyue L is equipped with the strongest vehicle specification level Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting 5G high-speed network, and one core driving multiple screens: a giant IMAX one-metre screen across the center console, a 25.6-inch AR-HUD head-up display and a 12.3-inch intelligent instrument screen, creating the intelligent cockpit with the largest screen-to-body ratio.
In terms of autonomous driving, the Xingyue L is equipped with 5G-AVP 1km unmanned parking technology, which enables real-time communication between the car park end, the car cloud end and the mobile end with the help of 5G technology. This allows the vehicle to find a parking space and park independently, and locate the owner as well.
The Xingyue L, as a new high-end SUV under Geely’s CMA architecture, perfectly possesses the five global genes of CMA architecture which are, “safety, health, intelligence, performance and energy saving”. CMA architecture is the center of “Geely Auto 4.0 Era”. The products born from CMA architecture will enter the “5G” era in the next 10-15 years and could fully meet the most cutting-edge and high-end demands of users.
To further improve its technological strength, Geely has continued to invest more than 100 billion in research and development in ten years. It has invested 4.8 billion in R&D in 2020 accounting for 5.2% of its revenue.
