As part of its ongoing effort to help in the fight against the COVID-19 virus, Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), through H.A.R.I. Foundation, Inc. (HFI), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), donated 2,200 brand-new personal protective equipment (PPEs) for the health workers of the Lung Center of the Philippines. This is part of HFI’s Biyahe ng Bayani COVID response project.
HARI’s donation to the Lung Center, which has been accommodating 25-30 patients on average daily, arrived as the facility continuously works on improvements to be able to provide more effective treatment services to severe COVID-19 cases. The Lung Center houses 22 laboratories which have the capability to test COVID-19 samples. Dr. Antonio Ramos, Department Manager for Administrative Services of the Lung Center, expressed his gratitude in a recent media interview, to the many private firms that provided the hospital with PPEs and surgical masks.
Meantime, HARI and HFI President Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo also expressed her gratitude and support to our frontliners: “With the arrival of brand-new PPEs from South Korea, commended worldwide for its best practices in flattening the curve, we again express in a concrete way our thanks and support to our health workers by protecting their wellness and rallying them onward in their noble mission of serving the Filipino.”
Ms. Agudo added that HFI is consistently monitoring the country’s COVID situation and has identified more areas of engagement for their Biyahe ng Bayani campaign.
Biyahe ng Bayani is under the umbrella of HFI’s flagship disaster response program #Hyundai SAGIP. They have been giving support to frontliners by providing transport as well as delivering critical supplies to various health institutions in Metro Manila and the nearby provinces.
In an official statement released by HMC on its global website: “We are aware that the rest of the world now faces its own challenging period of implementing measures to slow down and stamp out the virus. No matter how long that may take, Hyundai is committed to supporting people across the globe until the risk has completely passed. COVID-19 impacts all of humanity, so we must unite to overcome this unprecedented crisis. There has never been a more important time to come together. In this time of uncertainty and difficulty, Hyundai remains firm behind its commitment to make progress for humanity.”
This donation by HARI is part of its entire dealership network’s nationwide efforts to aid in the battle against COVID-19 which is in line with the global vision of HMC – “Humanity in Times of Hardship.”
