Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again dominates the industry’s truck sales based on the combined report from the Truck Manufacturers Association Inc. (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc (CAMPI). This marks its 22nd consecutive year as the number one truck brand in the country.
Based on the report, IPC sold a total of 4,427 truck units which account to almost 45.5% of the market. A big portion of the sales are Category III light-duty trucks selling over 2,700 units (2,745) and gaining 56% segment share. Meanwhile, its Category IV medium-duty trucks sold a total of almost 1,400 units (1,397) or 38.3% share, and its Category V heavy-duty trucks, was able to sell 285 units or a 25.3% segment share.
IPC President Hajime Koso attributed the brand’s success to Isuzu’s global reputation as the leading truck maker, known for its durability and reliability, as well as its excellent aftersales support.
Koso also mentioned that as a market leader, Isuzu continues to innovate with the launch of the N-Series Smoother AMT trucks. It is currently the first light duty truck with an automated manual transmission in the market.
Moving forward, Koso said the brand is gearing towards sustainability, “2022 will be the start of a new era for Isuzu, a more sustainable and eco-friendlier plans will be introduced that is in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. This includes its products, operations and customer service. IPC will evolve into a company that creates economic value combined with social and environmental contributions to with-stand the challenges ahead.”
