Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) partnered with Isuzu Isabela, one of the dealers under B.M. Domingo Motor Sales Inc. (BMD Motors), to organize a relief operation in Abra at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO). This is an effort to extend aid to the displaced families in Abra province after the strong magnitude 7 earthquake that recently struck provinces in northwestern Luzon and adjacent areas including Metro Manila.

A week after the massive quake, many people from the mountainous province of Abra are still being evacuated due to impending danger of more landslides and collapse of unstable structures.

The IPC team headed by Ms. Imelda Bernas – Administration Division Head and Mr. Robert Carlos –Sales Assistant Division Head and Isuzu Isabela Operations Manager – Mr. Antonio Benito “Butch” Mijares travelled to Bangued, Abra to deliver relief goods such as food, water and hygiene kits to 250 families currently settling in the nearby evacuation center. The turnover of relief goods was done in Operation Center (OPCEN) warehouse 1 PDRRMO, Calaba, Bangued, Abra. Hot meals were also distributed to evacuees during the relief operation.

IPC’s partner for this relief effort, BMD Motors, is celebrating their 45th year anniversary this month of August. Living up to Isuzu’s vision and tagline, BMD Motors is also active in organizing CSR activities.

As part of IPC’s Road to Progress vision, the company also remains committed to help in times of need, as IPC considers being able to extend aid to communities, their responsibility to the society and the country.
