MG Philippines continues to make a mark in the local industry as an up-and-coming brand with its positive performance in H1 2020.

The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), its parent company, is grateful for the privilege of serving Filipinos during these trying times through their modern, British heritage vehicles, and an expanding network of dealerships and competitive after-sales services.

MG Philippines saw their sales record grow in H1 after selling 1,801 units, a big difference compared to 1,784 vehicles sold during the same period in 2019. The ZS SUV is their best-selling nameplate this year, accounting for 56% of this year’s total sales. Aside from its crossover, the brand also aims to strengthen its brand further with its other products including the MG 5 sedan, RX5 SUV, and MG 6 Fastback Sedan.

“We appreciate the strong reception and trust that the Philippine automotive market has shown to the MG brand. Our principals at SAIC Motor International (SMIL) and we at The Covenant Car Company, Inc. focused our efforts on a precise product portfolio and positioned our offers to be most beneficial to the local motoring market. We are glad the objectives were achieved, and are delighted to see more clients and their MG vehicles on the road,” says Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla, President, and CEO of MG Philippines.

With the start of the second half of 2020, MG Philippines plans to open six (6) new dealerships nationwide:

  • MG Congressional
  • MG Sucat
  • MG Bacoor
  • MG Calasiao
  • MG Marilao
  • MG Bohol

After these openings, MG will have thirty (30) dealerships by the end of the year.

“It has been a very exciting 20 months of growth for the MG brand in the Philippines and we look forward to more opportunities to serve our clients. Acknowledging the evolving lifestyles of our motoring public because of the changes in our mobility dynamics and needs, we at MG will be firm in ensuring the quality of the ownership experience of our clients with a focus on the safety and security of our MG community of dealer partners, stewards, and guests,” says Atty. Arcilla.

Placing the health of its employees and customers first, MG Philippines has implemented enhanced safety and sanitation protocols in all dealerships, sites, and offices.

Also, the company continues to offer competitive promos such as the Forward With All Front Liners sales discount. This sales program offers a zero down-payment or cash discounts on the MG 5 sedan, while a zero down-payment is also available on the RX5 SUV but paired to a three-month payment holiday scheme.

Another effort of bringing the MG ownership experience to Filipino motorists is via the MG Online Garage after-sales service that allows owners to contact MG technicians thru video calls and conducting car diagnosis and troubleshooting in the comfort of their own homes. It also has the MG Online Chat service function on mgmotor.com.ph, allowing users to chat with MG personnel about any inquiries in real-time.

“The very positive response of the market strengthens our resolve to continue our efforts to introduce new models, communicate exciting offers, and to establish a dealer network that will provide an excellent ownership experience for our clients,” says Atty. Arcilla.

MG Philippines wants to end the year strong by adapting and innovating through the challenges presented since the global pandemic started. It shows the commitment of MG to contributing to the growth of the local automotive industry.
