Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) donated One Million Pesos to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to contribute to the ongoing efforts to aid typhoon-stricken communities. Two months after the devastation brought about by Typhoon Odette, areas in Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan are still in need of support.

The disaster-specific fund founded by PRC back in December was intended not only to deliver immediate relief but also aid long-term rehabilitation. MMPC’s donation will be utilized to prepare relief packages that will be distributed to households particularly in Surigao Del Norte as they move out of temporary shelters into transitional housing.

During the virtual turnover, MMPC President and CEO, Mr. Takeshi Hara thanked PRC for giving MMPC the opportunity to help families that were affected by Typhoon Odette. Mr. Hara said “Our commitment to the Philippines goes beyond providing quality cars and vehicle service as it extends to a vision of being a medium in making the life of every Filipino better.”

Also present during the ceremony was PRC Chairman and CEO, Senator Richard Gordon, who thanked MMPC for choosing the Philippine Red Cross as its partner in delivering much-needed relief to typhoon Odette-hit communities. Senator Gordon said that “Through your generous donation, PRC will be able to strengthen and hasten relief efforts to alleviate human suffering and uplift the dignity of the people.”
