Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) introduced a new variant of their flagship pick-up: the Strada Athlete. The truck has a new and improved design such as styling bar and side decal accents, black front bumper garnish, black dynamic shield, 18-inch black alloy wheels, and two-tone interior finish for the 4×4 trim.

Available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants, the Strada Athlete is powered by a 2.4L MIVEC Turbo Clean Diesel engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission that produces 181ps and 430Nm of torque. The super select 4WD II system that allows the driver to shift to 4 driving modes easily is also available for the top of the line, four-wheel-drive edition.

With 40 years of experience in truck engineering, the Strada Athlete will appeal to a wider market of off-roading enthusiasts. It is priced at Php 1,443,000.00 for the 4×2 and Php1,760,000.00 for the 4×4 with three color options: White Diamond, Jet Black Mica, and the new Sunflare Orange, an exclusive shade to the Athlete 4×4 variant.
