As countries gradually ease into the “new normal” setting, the Repsol Honda Team returned to cycling outdoors in early May. Marc and Alex Marquez have been able to transition to an updated training system, following all the guidelines and safety recommendations of the government and health experts. The duo restarted their engines last May 19 after having not ridden a motorcycle since March 11 at the ‘El Bosquet’ Circuit in Ponts.

The duo recently achieved the first-ever one-two finish in the fourth round of the Misano Virtual GP. Alex Marquez earned his second victory of the virtual season while Marc Marquez scored his first virtual podium. As much as they enjoyed racing virtually, both drivers are delighted to resume training and experience real-time motorcycle racing once again.

Marc stated that it was nice to be able to get back on the bike, as it is a feeling he can’t find anywhere else. Meanwhile, Alex felt like everything went back to normal, and he is hopeful that all riders, as well as everyone else, will continue to adapt in this current situation.

Eagerly waiting for the return of the MotoGP World Championship, Marc and Alex will expand and alter their training in line with government protocols to limit the spread of Covid-19.
