The biggest vehicle to ever don the luxury German badge has finally arrived in the country.
BMW’s flagship full-size premium SUV, the X7, awed guests at the Fifth at Rockwell, Makati not just for its heft, but for its sheer quality and style. After it was introduced to the world last year, everyone was just head over heels anticipating its entry into the local market.
“Today marks the beginning of a new BMW product that is set to shake up the full-size premium sport utility vehicle segment. The first-ever BMW X7 marks the culmination of creating the biggest and most luxurious BMW sport utility vehicle today,” BMW Phils. president Spencer Yu said.
“We have here the charismatic leader, the president, the flagship model, BMW X7”
Tipping the scales at a massive 5,151mm long, 2,000mm wide and 1,805mm tall with a 3,105mm wheelbase, this voguish-looking behemoth can be quite intimidating at the onset.
Bannered by its huge grille upfront, complemented by LED headlights with built-in DRL, its burly shoulder lines and sporty contour flowing all the way to its rear, it lucidly creates an image of one on-road “bigshot.”
Inside, it echoes its heft with a large cabin space. Front and center is its fully digital instrument cluster and touchscreen i-Drive infotainment system. Everything is premium, from its high-gloss finishes, aluminum trim, panoramic sunroof, five-zone climate control, down to its leather upholstery.
Under its hood is a 3.0-liter straight-six turbo-diesel engine that is capable of producing 263 hp and a peak torque of 620 N-m. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive setup. It can gallop from 0-100 in just a tad above seven seconds.
With just a lone variant, the BMW X7 is tagged at a starting price of P9, 290,000. Check out more of this bigshot in the following photos.
